I heard about this ambitious father-son hiking duo a few months ago when Paul (the dad) and Asher (the son) were in Tryon, NC. They were giving a talk about their experiences of hiking the entire 2, 200 mile Appalachian Trail.
I bought the book and enjoyed reading about their true adventure and marveled at what it took to get a then eight-year-old to complete such an incredible trip.
When I found out they lived in Maine the gears in my brain started turning (finally) and I looked them up and guess what? We'll be visiting with these guys this July during our New England trip to hear about their trip first hand.
Asher is now 12 years old, which will be the age of many of our boys this summer. It will be one of many highlights of our two-week adventure.
