Oh well Tom, in a mere 587 or so days we'll be exploring who knows where in Europe!
It's worth waiting for.
Official info will be available in January 2012.
Some of the gang this past summer at a Colorado Rockies baseball game in Denver. I saw this guy in the hall at CDS yesterday looking kind of dejected. He said he just realized that the Europe trip he's planning on going on isn't happening until 2013. Oh well Tom, in a mere 587 or so days we'll be exploring who knows where in Europe! It's worth waiting for. Official info will be available in January 2012.

Second-Generation...can you believe it? I mentioned a while back that the upcoming Wyoming-Montana trip will have several sets of brothers. Today another set enrolled...and these two guys mark a red-letter day for MTA. Ras and Becker Andry not only become the next two boys to sign up for a wonderful trip...but they also become the first SECOND GENERATION campers for my program! You see - their daddy, Michael, went with me on some adventures when I first got started in the travel camp program (late 1970s) and was a counselor at my residential camp in its first years of operation in the early 1980's. That's Michael on the right at the residential camp at our "Jay Jalenak's World Famous Las Vegas Casino Night." Michael Andry, looking pretty dapper with his bandana tie (a requirement for our high-class casino operations) is joined in this photo by a then-fellow-New Orleans counselor, Michael Reily. (You should know that our casino night operations almost got us in trouble with the local law, but that's another story. So welcome Becker and Ras. I'm excited you'll be joining us this summer and officially taking on the role of my first-ever second generation campers! It's hard to imagine I started these programs in 1978 and have never missed a summer. For anyone thinking about joining us this summer, there's one opening left. Our trip this coming summer is full steam ahead for a wonderful experience out West in Wyoming & Montana. There's still a couple of spots left, so be in touch if you're interested. And in 2013 we're heading back to Europe for an incredible adventure. And for the first time in over a dozen years or so, we'll be having two summer trips in 2013. So in addition to Europe we'll be taking a group of boys to West Virginia for what will probably be a one-week trip. We'll base in the Greenbrier River Valley area where we'll take a bike trip along the Greenbrier River Trail (a really nice Rails-to-Trails conversion. We'll go on a scenic train ride, take a raft trip, explore some great hiking trails, do some geocaching, go on a cavern tour, and tour an underground bunker for top government officials that was top secret until just a few years ago. It's apparently so big that it could hold over 1,000 people. That's for starters. The trip will be geared toward younger kids but older boys are always welcome as helpers. Bridge over the New River Gorge. Sign-ups for this West Virginia adventure will begin in January 2012 at the same time as the Europe trip sign-ups. If you want to get a head start and make sure you get notified early, go to this page and click the box and submit the form. So tell your friends and start making plans. Mark LevinI never imagined that when I started taking kids on travel trips in 1978 that I would still be taking trips today! It has been a great ride and I'm looking forward to more. Archives
