Colorado Springs loses Flying W Ranch to Wildfire

We're always visited the Flying W Ranch on every one of our Colorado Rockies adventures. We were out there last this past summer and enjoyed another evening having a great chuck wagon dinner and after-dinner cowboy show put on by the wranglers.

I hope the family who has owned the Flying W for decades is able to rebuild. It was an institution and one of the highlights of our past trips.

I'm not sure when we'll be back in Colorado on another MTA trip. I only hope they'll recover. It is truly a loss. The place was an institution.

Three weeks from today, here's where we'll be...

Just about this time three weeks from today we'll be seeing this view as we approach our destination of Jackson, Wyoming. These are some of the peaks in the Grand Teton National Park and I can't wait to get back. If my count is correct, this will be my seventh trip to the Tetons & Yellowstone areas.

Joining me will be 20 kids and three other adults and we are going to have one fantastic time.

    I never imagined that when I started taking kids on travel trips in 1978 that I would still be taking trips today! It has been a great ride and I'm looking forward to more.

    Over the years I've had the fortune to travel across the US several times, visit Canada several times, experienced Alaska, the Bahamas, Mexico, and Europe several times.
